Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains how Winkiloo uses cookies and similar technologies, why they are used, how long they may remain on your device, and how you can manage your preferences.

Last updated: 12 August 2026

1. About This Cookies Policy

Winkiloo uses a limited number of cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, protect user accounts, maintain sessions, remember selected preferences and provide requested functionality.

Some cookies are technically necessary for Winkiloo to function. Other categories, such as analytics or marketing technologies, are optional and should only be activated where they are enabled and the required consent has been obtained.

This Cookies Policy should be read together with the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.

2. What Is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser when you visit a website.

Cookies can help a website remember information between page requests or future visits.

Depending on their purpose, cookies may be used to:

  • maintain a logged-in session.
  • protect account and security functionality.
  • remember user preferences.
  • remember cookie-consent choices.
  • measure website usage where analytics is enabled.
  • support advertising or marketing functionality where explicitly enabled.

Similar technologies may perform comparable functions even where they are not technically browser cookies.

3. Cookies Currently Used by Winkiloo

The following table describes the first-party cookies used by the current Winkiloo platform.

Cookie Purpose Category Typical duration
Session cookie
Server-defined name, commonly PHPSESSID
Maintains your Winkiloo session, authentication state and security context while you use the platform. Necessary Browser session
winkiloo_remember Used only when you choose Remember me on this device. It allows Winkiloo to restore your authenticated session without requiring you to sign in again immediately. Necessary / requested functionality Configurable by Winkiloo. The default configuration is 30 days.
winkiloo_locale Remembers your selected Winkiloo interface or website language so that your language preference can be restored during future visits. Preference Approximately 1 year
winkiloo_cookie_consent Stores your cookie-preference selection so Winkiloo can remember whether you selected necessary cookies only or allowed available optional categories. Necessary Approximately 180 days
Important: technical cookie names or durations may change if Winkiloo's authentication, hosting or security configuration is updated. This policy will be updated where a material change affects users.

4. Session and Security Cookies

Winkiloo uses a server session to identify requests that belong to the same browsing session.

Session functionality is used for purposes such as:

  • signing users in.
  • maintaining authenticated access.
  • protecting forms and account actions.
  • maintaining security-related state.
  • remembering temporary workflow information.
  • supporting referral attribution during registration.

The session cookie is configured with security protections such as HttpOnly and SameSite controls. Secure transport is used when the site is served through HTTPS.

Without session functionality, important parts of Winkiloo such as account login and dashboard functionality would not operate correctly.

5. “Remember Me” Cookie

Winkiloo provides an optional Remember me on this device feature during sign-in.

When you activate this feature, Winkiloo places the winkiloo_remember cookie on your device.

The cookie contains a security token rather than your password. The corresponding authentication information is also stored securely on the Winkiloo server.

You can stop the persistent session by signing out. Winkiloo also invalidates persistent authentication tokens after certain sensitive account-security actions.

The duration can be configured by Winkiloo and may therefore change over time.

6. Language Preference

Winkiloo is designed as a multilingual platform.

When you select a website or interface language, Winkiloo may store that choice in the winkiloo_locale cookie.

This prevents you from having to choose your preferred language on every visit.

For registered users, language information may also be associated with the Winkiloo account so that supported dashboard, email or AI-language preferences can be applied.

7. Cookie Preference Storage

Winkiloo uses winkiloo_cookie_consent to remember your cookie choices.

The preference may contain settings such as:

  • necessary cookies: enabled.
  • analytics cookies: accepted or rejected.
  • marketing cookies: accepted or rejected.

The consent cookie exists so that Winkiloo does not have to ask for the same preference on every page request.

You can reopen the Cookie settings control from the public-site footer and change your choices.

8. Cookie Categories

Necessary

These technologies are required for functionality such as authentication, security, sessions and remembering your cookie choices.

They cannot normally be disabled through the Winkiloo cookie-preference control because the corresponding service could not function correctly without them.

Preferences

Preference technologies remember choices you deliberately make, such as your selected language.

Their purpose is to provide functionality requested by you rather than to profile your browsing behaviour.

Analytics

Analytics technologies can help measure how people use a website, such as which pages are visited or which functionality is used.

Where analytics technologies requiring consent are enabled, they should only be activated after the relevant consent has been given.

Marketing

Marketing technologies may be used to measure advertising, build marketing audiences or track activity across services.

Winkiloo should not activate marketing technologies requiring consent unless the relevant consent has first been obtained.

9. Current Analytics and Marketing Configuration

Winkiloo includes administrative settings that allow an Analytics category and a Marketing category to appear in the cookie-preference interface.

In the standard Winkiloo v2.6.4 application package, no built-in third-party advertising tracker or analytics tracker is included merely by enabling those category controls.

If Winkiloo later integrates a service such as:

  • website analytics.
  • conversion tracking.
  • advertising pixels.
  • remarketing technology.
  • other optional tracking tools.

this Cookies Policy and the cookie-preference system should be updated before the technology is activated for users.

10. Referral Attribution

Winkiloo provides personal referral links such as:

https://winkiloo.com/ref/YOURUSERNAME

When such a link is opened, Winkiloo may temporarily store the referring creator's identifier in the server-side session so that a subsequent eligible registration can be associated with the correct referrer.

The current referral flow does not require a separate dedicated long-term referral cookie.

Referral activity may also generate server-side records used for attribution, fraud prevention and programme administration. More information is available in the Privacy Policy and Affiliate Program.

11. Third-Party Services

Winkiloo integrates or may integrate with external services necessary for particular functionality.

Examples may include:

  • Google and YouTube for channel connection and authorised data access.
  • Stripe for payment processing where enabled.
  • PayPal for payment processing where enabled.
  • OpenAI or other AI infrastructure for supported AI features.
  • hosting, email and infrastructure providers.

When you leave Winkiloo and visit a third-party website, that provider may use its own cookies or similar technologies according to its own policies.

Winkiloo does not control cookies placed directly by a third party on that third party's own website.

12. Google and YouTube

Some Winkiloo features allow you to connect a Google or YouTube account.

When you choose to connect an account, you may be redirected to a Google domain where Google manages the sign-in and permission process.

Cookies or other technologies used on Google's or YouTube's own websites are controlled by those providers rather than by Winkiloo.

Winkiloo does not receive your Google password.

Additional information about Google/YouTube account data and OAuth access is available in the Privacy Policy.

13. Embedded Media and External Content

Some areas of Winkiloo may display or link to external media, including YouTube videos.

Loading embedded third-party media may allow the external provider to receive technical information such as your IP address and browser information and may result in that provider using cookies or similar technologies.

Where applicable law requires consent before such third-party technology is loaded, the relevant functionality should be activated only after the required consent has been obtained.

14. Payment Providers

When paid Winkiloo functionality is enabled, checkout or payment processing may involve third-party providers such as Stripe or PayPal.

Payment providers may use cookies or security technologies on their own domains for purposes such as:

  • fraud prevention.
  • payment authentication.
  • session management.
  • regulatory compliance.
  • transaction security.

Their use of cookies is governed by their own applicable privacy and cookie information.

15. Your Consent Choices

Necessary cookies are used where required to provide Winkiloo functionality that you request.

Where Winkiloo uses optional technologies that require consent, you should be given a choice before those technologies are activated.

You may be offered options such as:

  • Necessary only.
  • Accept optional.
  • individual choices for available optional categories.

Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent access to Winkiloo functionality that does not depend on those optional technologies.

16. How to Change Your Cookie Preferences

You can reopen the Winkiloo cookie-preference interface using the Cookie settings control in the footer of the public website.

You can then update the available optional categories.

You can also remove Winkiloo cookies directly using your browser settings.

If you delete the winkiloo_cookie_consent cookie, Winkiloo may ask for your preferences again on a later visit.

17. Browser Cookie Controls

Most modern browsers allow you to:

  • view stored cookies.
  • delete individual cookies.
  • delete all cookies.
  • block cookies from particular websites.
  • block third-party cookies.
  • clear browsing information when closing the browser.

Please remember that blocking all cookies may affect necessary Winkiloo functionality.

For example, disabling session cookies can prevent login and authenticated dashboard functionality from working.

18. Cookies and Personal Data

Some cookie-related information may constitute personal data when it can be associated with an identifiable user or device.

Where personal data is processed through or in connection with cookies, the processing is also subject to the information provided in the Winkiloo Privacy Policy.

That policy explains the purposes of processing, legal bases, recipients, retention and your applicable data-protection rights.

19. Cookie Security

Winkiloo applies security-related cookie settings where appropriate.

Depending on the cookie, these controls may include:

  • Secure — transmission through HTTPS.
  • HttpOnly — limiting access from client-side JavaScript.
  • SameSite — reducing certain forms of cross-site request abuse.
  • randomised authentication tokens.
  • server-side token validation and expiry.

Security controls may be updated as Winkiloo evolves.

20. How Long Cookies Are Stored

Cookie duration depends on its purpose.

Winkiloo currently uses both:

  • session cookies, which normally expire when the browsing session ends and
  • persistent cookies, which remain until their configured expiry date, are replaced, or are deleted by you.

The current typical durations are shown in the cookie table above.

21. Changes to This Cookies Policy

Winkiloo may update this Cookies Policy when:

  • new technologies are introduced
  • existing cookies change
  • new third-party integrations are enabled
  • legal or regulatory requirements change
  • Winkiloo's functionality changes.

The date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was most recently updated.

Where required, Winkiloo may ask you to make a new cookie choice after a significant change.

22. Questions About Cookies

If you have questions about Winkiloo's use of cookies or similar technologies, please contact us through the available support or privacy contact channels.
